Meet Our Principal - Mr. Edwin Dubois
Edwin DuBois is a servant and devoted educator with over 10 years of experience and is proud to call Dallas ISD his safe refuge. He has a very sincere connection to Dallas, Texas, where he was born and raised in the Pleasant Grove community. His educational pathway began in elementary where he attended Nathaniel Hawthorne and Blanton Elementary. His middle school experience was fulfilled at Henry W. Longfellow, and he graduated from Skyline High School. Mr. DuBois pursued a higher education at the University of North Texas-Denton, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting, followed by a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University. Mr. DuBois holds a Mathematics (4-8), Principal, and Superintendent certification.
Mr. DuBois started his educational career as a substitute teacher in Dallas ISD, where he understood and accepted his calling to be an educator. This led to him becoming a Mathematics teacher of record at Seagoville Middle School. His exceptional performance and leadership provided him the opportunity to serve as an Instructional Lead Teacher at Piedmont GLOBAL Academy. Mr. DuBois has created district curriculum and led district professional developments within the STEM department. Mr. DuBois has also served as a Campus Coordinator and Dean of Students. He has served as an Assistant Principal at Sunset High School, playing an essential role by expanding the Advanced Placement program by creating student access to college careers and creating a robust campus culture for staff and students. Mr. DuBois recently led the campus of John Lewis Social Justice Academy at O.W. Holmes, as Principal and built a culture of unity and purpose for all students and staff.
Mr. DuBois is a fervent believer that all students must be seen, heard, and known and we as educators, are the mediators, who must provide them with equitable resources and access to be positive change agents for their communities and the world. His leadership is driven by the will to serve, sacrifice, and empower others to be better than they were before. He is thankful for those who have poured into his growth personally and professionally.
Mr. DuBois is the proud and blessed father of three amazing children. He loves sports,
exercising, and self-reflecting. He is incredibly grateful and honored to serve, back in his
childhood neighborhood, of Pleasant Grove and the community of H. G. Spruce.
Assistant Principal: Dr. Michelle L. Coleman
Dr. Michelle L. Coleman serves as the Early College Assistant Principal at H. Grady Spruce CTE High School, where she leads with a commitment to equity, innovation, and student achievement. She believes in creating meaningful learning experiences that prepare students not only for college and careers, but also to thrive as engaged members of their communities.
She is dedicated to fostering an environment of excellence and growth within the educational community. With a deep commitment to student success, Dr. Coleman is passionate about helping students reach their full potential.
Dr. Coleman has a Doctorate of Philosophy in Education for Social Justice and a Master’s in Education, both from the University of San Diego. She has served as an educator for over 20 years in Richardson ISD, Frisco ISD, and Dallas ISD. During her career, Dr. Coleman has worked as a Social Studies Teacher, Curriculum Specialist, Assistant Principal, and most recently, the Workplace Learning Coordinator at W. T. White B-TECH.
Dr. Coleman believes that a successful school thrives when every stakeholder is actively invested in its mission. When educators, families, and the community work together with shared purpose, students receive the support they need to excel both academically and socially.
