Academy Affiliation
HGS Academy of Information Technology is an affiliate of the National Academy Foundation. Through NAF, the AOIT receives curricular, professional development and program support, regional/national connections and collective experiences of AOIT programs throughout the nation.
Every student in H. Grady Spruce AOIT will obtain life-long 21st Century skills in the area of Information Technology that will equip them with the competencies they need in seeking higher education and/or entering the digital workforce.
Mission
Students will be able to develop the personal, analytical, technical and communication skills they need to succeed in their college and career aspirations. Students will have the opportunity to obtain national/international industry certifications and obtain work experience in the IT field through work-based learning experiences and the AOIT internships.
Community Connections
The AOIT is guided by an Advisory Board, composed of HGS faculty, staff, and students as well as members who are local IT professionals that have or currently work for local and national based businesses. These and other community partnerships are geared toward providing real-life experiences and toward keeping the Academy program grounded in the reality of the IT field.
